Getting Started with Diversified Managed Utility Billing Services
Onboarding a new billing services customer generally takes two billing cycles. While every utility is different, the process can be summarized here in these four-steps.
1. Discovery
The objective is to learn everything there is to know about how you run your billing operation – meter data sources and dates, billing dates, due dates, ACH dates, penalty and/or interest rates and dates, notices, final bills, bill type and much more.
2. Data
Copy data from your current system. Convert it to work with our Diversified Billing software.
3. Software
Here we use the information gathered during the discovery process to configure our software to exactly represent your billing operation. We also train your staff to utilize our client Dashboard and Reporting module.
4. Parallel Processing
For one entire billing cycle, your staff and our staff will each perform every action required in the billing cycle – import meter readings, error check bills, generate bills, receive and process payments, generate and apply penalties and interest. At the end of this billing cycle, we run trial balances in each system. Only when they balance to the penny can we be assured that our system is set up to properly reflect your operation.
